VWR UV-3100PC with high sensitivity and wide wavelength range
The VWR UV-3100PC has excellent spectroscopic skills including high sensitivity. The wavelength accuracy of 0.5 nm makes the VWR UV-3100PC ideal for high accuracy quantitative analysis and detection of low-concentration substances. The VWR UV-3100PC has a wide wavelength range. The wavelength range of 190 nm – 1100 nm increases the usability of the instrument, due to the fact that it enables the user to measure within both the ultraviolet- and visible region.
VWR UV-3100PC with PC-controllable application software
The supplied application software “UV-Vis Analyst” allows PC control of the spectrophotometer. The internal memory can save 200 sets of data and 200 standard curves which is convenient for check and reload. Data can be downloaded to PC via USB interface. The VWR UV-3100PC includes the following methods: Basic mode, quantitative, wavelength scan, multi-wavelength, DNA/protein and kinetics. The application software offers all the important methods for routine measurements.

VWR UV-3100PC with a variety of optional accessories
The VWR UV-3100PC is compatible with a variety of optional accessories, including an automatic eight-cell changer that can be used in order to read up to eight cells automatically, and a peltier thermostatted single cell holder that can be used for obtaining precise temperature controlled measurements. The wide range of different accessories available for the VWR UV-3100PC will help to adapt and adjust the units in order to meet specific needs of the user. Some accessories are supplied with the UV-3100PC, including 2 quartz cells, 4 glass cells, 4-position cell holder (10 mm), dust cover and software.
In addition, the VWR UV-3100PC features a beam height of 15 mm and a minimum spectral bandwidth of 2 mm, making the spectrophotometer compatible with SpectroCuvette™ One (15 mm beam height).
VWR UV-3100PC compared to other instruments
Even though the VWR UV-3100PC maintains some features of older VWR instruments, it is still a major upgrade from previous models. The VWR UV-3100PC is more accurate than older VWR instruments, such as the VWR UV-1200PC UV-Vis, because the wavelength accuracy has been optimized from 2 nm to 0.5 nm.
The VWR UV-3100PC is not only a huge upgrade from previous VWR instruments. It also beats it’s competitors on several parameters. The VWR UV-3100PC features a wider wavelength range than the Shimadzu UV-2401PC UV-Vis. Furthermore, the VWR UV-3100PC is more accurate than Biochrom Libra S32PC UV/Vis. VWR UV-3100PC with SpectroCuvette™ One, SpectroLink™, and SpectroWorks™The SpectroCuvette™ One is a cuvette that can be used for measuring both refractive index and absorbance using a spectrophotometer.
The VWR UV-3100PC features a 15 mm beam height and a minimum spectral bandwidth of 2 nm, making the instrument compatible with our SpectroCuvette™ One.
Today, VWR/Avantor distributes 8 instruments in Europe, which all ship with SpectroCuvette™ One.
With our SpectroCuvette™ One your VWR UV-3100PC will be able to measure 2 mL / 0.5 µL samples via refractive index for QC and kinetics. You can find a recording here showing how to perform a measurement with SpectroCuvette™ One:
In addition to SpectroCuvette™ One, you can use SpectroLink™ for simplifying your spectrophotometer workflow to a three step process allowing you to quickly acquire, analyze and extract results. In this way, you don’t have to waste more time on trouble with file formats, data transfer or sharing results.
